Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic working on semi-trucks, diesel engines, and heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components commonly found in heavy equipment
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred
- Communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal team
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair requests as needed
Daily Duties
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements, to ensure the proper functioning of vehicles, heavy equipment, and other machinery as needed.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify worn or damaged parts and recommend repair or replacement as necessary.
- Execute repairs on hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems to restore equipment to optimal operating condition.
- Prioritize maintenance and repair schedule based off employee pre-operational inspections.
- Fabricate or modify parts using welding, cutting, and machining techniques when replacement parts are not readily available.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts, labor hours, and equipment downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
