Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass background check & drug screening
- Flexibility to work extended hours & weekends
- Commitment to safety
- Previous heavy equipment experience preferred
- Strong understanding of equipment safety practices and procedures
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions
- Current MSHA certification
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions
- Effectively communicate with drivers, dispatch, supervisors, and other personnel to ensure quality and efficiency
- Basic maintenance understanding
Daily Duties
- Operate and maneuver heavy equipment (such as haul/rock trucks, loaders, telehandlers, skid steers, water trucks, excavators, etc.) to perform various tasks within the quarry.
- Safely and efficiently load and transport raw materials and finished products.
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment, crusher, wash plant, work areas, and stockpiles to ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take corrective action as necessary to minimize disruptions to production.
- Conduct pre/post operational inspections of equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and minor repairs for equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with quarry personnel to coordinate workflow and optimize production efficiency.
- Maintain awareness of potential hazards on-site and report any safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with site cleanup activities, including clearing debris, maintaining roads, and ensuring that work areas are clean and organized.
- Assist with sampling and testing of materials as needed to verify quality and consistency.
